back on..

bouldering comp is back on for this Saturday, March 12. we have tons of cash and prizes to give away to winners in the comp as well as raffle. most of our vendors will be back so make sure to stop by the various tents to check out the demos and product available. the scc has a stacks of gear to give away in their raffle so be sure to stop by, purchase a ticket, and support the many great things they do for us. saturday's weather looks perfect for a day at hp.

saturday's comp fee DOES NOT include camping so if you plan to camp friday or saturday night be sure to bring money for the normal hp fee. spectators can come watch for the normal $5 day use fee so make sure to bring the crew.

(note: if you are pre-registered friday and saturday night camping are included. if you stuck it out with us as a registered competitor or spectator this weekend, you will not need to pay for camping friday or saturday night. be sure to bring your armband or it will be up to you to convince mike you were there....)

GOOD PEOPLE IPA and Gina's chili will be available at intermission for $10 so bring extra cash to support the Alabama Bouldering Fund.

After yesterday's deluge, hp40 is a swamp... we have decided to postpone the bouldering competition one more weekend until Saturday, march 12.

friday night and saturday plans

regardless of the weather...

registration will begin at 5pm today at the first ave rocks tent. be sure to make your way to the tent to pick up your competitor packet including shirt, as well as raffle and beer ticket for the evening.

TONIGHT the Daniel Woods Slideshow will kick things off in the pavilion at 7pm. the dyno comp will follow afterward. the competition is free with prizes for the most "ups" for top 3 in mens and womens category. after the comp DJ Golden Boodah will close it out til ?

stop by the first ave rocks tent to pick up a beverage, visit the vendors onsite, and settle in the pavilion for the evening. should be a lot of fun.

we will raffle off a few things (pad, shoes, etc) tonight between the two activities so make sure you are there.

the bouldering competition has been postponed til sunday. the conditions look sick as these sort of set ups create the stickiest days in the pens. registration will begin at 10AM and we will start as soon as the rock is dry (probably 11). comp will end at 5pm with awards ceremony at six.

regardless of weather...

saturday's live music will start in the covered pavilion at 11am with the acoustic sounds of michael posey followed by Strung Like a Horse and continue til 8. the scc raffle as well as competitor raffle will happen between Earthbound and Shaglo with tons of gear to give away. the party will continue afterward with dj spinning by J Pheonix to keep it moving til everyone is done.

Good People high gravity Brew (including new cans) as well as Gina's chili will be available at the first ave rocks tent for $10

corrections to previous posts.. DanielWoods is not doing the trad clinic (although i am sure he has sick skills) and Pat Goodman had to cancel due to car trouble. we will run the trad clinics through certified instructors at the first ave rocks booth.

weather is looking a little suspect for the weekend, but (regardless) the show will go on...

Rain sucks so we are re-aranging things a bit and moving the comp to Sunday. D. Woods slide show and the Dyno Comp will still be will still be friday night. Remember cash prizes for top three men & women.

After the comp DJ Golden Buddha will MC the *COSTUME* dance party. Bring a costume!

---bouldering tour clinics are free to all participants.  you will need to sign up either friday or saturday morning.  space is limited.

---after checking in (pre-registered) or paying fee at gate, come to the First Avenue Rocks tent for your t-shirt, raffle ticket, friday night beverage ticket, and packet. Vendors will be on site.

beverages will be available at the First Avenue Rocks tent.  Competitors get a Friday Night ONE beverage ticket.  Additional $2.  Food available in the HP cafe.

Saturday

Registration starts at 9AM CENTRAL and comp will begin at 10AM sharp.

Live Music will start at 11am and play til 10PM in the pavillion. (due to weather concerns SHAGLO will rock it out after the awards announcement instead of the disco tech).

bring $10 for chili and high gravity GOOD PEOPLE brew in support of the Alabama Bouldering Fund on Saturday.
